… Looking Ahead – Received by e-mail, From: PERERVA Yulia, Date: 20/12/2012.
Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to inform you that the proceedings of the conference “Human Rights and Democracy in Action – Looking Ahead: The impact of the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education” (Strasbourg, 29-30 November 2012) are now available on-line.
The conference brought together over 200 participants, including government representatives, international institutions, civil society organisations and education professionals. It was organised by the Council of Europe in the framework of the Andorran Chairmanship and in co-operation with the European Commission and the European Wergeland Centre.
The aim of the Conference was to take stock of the results achieved and to plan future co-operation and strategies for the promotion of citizenship and human rights education through the implementation of the Council of Europe Charter on this topic, which was adopted by the Organisation’s 47 member states in May 2010. A final report of the conference will be made available early next year. It is proposed to organise a follow-up conference in 2017.
