Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the 2010 Interdisciplinary Course on Children’s Rights (ICCR): ’Children’s Rights and Globalization. From Principles to Practice’.

The ICCR is a two-yearly training programme in children’s rights, which has been jointly organised by the Department of Social Welfare Studies (Ghent University), the Faculty of Social Work and Welfare Studies (University College Ghent), the UNICEF Chair in Children’s Rights (Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp) and the Leuven Institute of Criminology/Institute of Social Law (K.U.Leuven), in cooperation with the recently established Children’s Rights Knowledge Centre (KeKi). This interdisciplinary and interuniversity Centre involves – in addition to the aforementioned partners – also the Free University of Brussels.

The training course is an interdisciplinary and international programme which attracts a diverse range of participants from all over the world. It will be led by key experts in the field. The focus throughout will be both theoretical and applied (see general overview in annex).

The course will be held from 5 to 17 September 2010 in Ghent and Antwerp (Belgium). Applications are to be submitted online before 15 May 2010.

The course is designed to benefit professionals from non-governmental organisations, national human rights institutions, government, international governmental organisations, field operations, and interested academics and PhD students. Further details on the 2010 training course, including application form, programme and names of experts, can be found on the website.

We would like to encourage you to distribute this announcement to your colleagues and other relevant organisations and persons who would find this training useful.
We would also be pleased if you could advertise the course in your newsletter/mailing list and/or make a link to our website (Homepage), which contains further details about the course.
